The late paleocon columnist Sam Francis used to refer to the Republican and Democratic Parties, respectively, as the Stupid Party and the Evil Party. Every now and then (all too often, actually) they'd take a notion to demonstrate their bipartisanship, and they'd do something that was stupid and evil. And indeed, just as there is a fine line between genius and insanity, so, I would contend, there is a fine line between stupidity and evil.

Consider.

It becomes more apparent each day, does it not, that, ignore us as they might, the big parties are learning from our little R3volution. My advice, especially to Obama, is that they need to really accelerate that ol' learning curve.

First there was the money bomb, and didn't it take the Chosen One (aka Barry O.) a few false starts to get that one copied right. Then, there were a few issues they learned from us, trifling things, like opposition to the war, that resonated with people on the left and right. Check that one off the list. All this stuff, helped Obama beat Hillary.

Is it just me, or does anyone else take serious issue with McCain's new banner tag line "Country First?"

You know, sometimes, listening to my fellow Amerikans, I'm forced to believe that we are just an intervening sort of a people. Maybe that's why we have such a solid centralised govt domestically. Someone can't bear the thought that some 15 year old in South Dakota isn't getting her abortion or that some redneck Idahoan outside of the Coeur d'Alene/Sun Valley axis might've stockpiled more than three guns in a barn somewhere and started a defacto militia. So we've got to have big govt to patrol and enlighten.

Sheesh, seems like deja vu all over again, eh? I mean, seriously, folks, do you remember the Winter of '04?
